Description

Thyers is a detached cottage located on Church Lane, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is built from Ham stone coursed rubble and features a thatched roof with stepped coped gables, along with a brick chimney stack at the east end. The cottage has two storeys and consists of two bays. It has casement windows with two lights and small panes, all set under timber lintels. The front door, which is a six-panel door, is positioned between the bays in a deep recess and is topped by a timber lintel; it also has an outward-opening boarded screening door. There is a lean-to structure against the west gable. The interior has not been seen, but the cottage is noted as a rare unspoiled example of a very humble dwelling.
