Description

This stable building, located about 2 meters north-east of Coat Farmhouse, likely dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of roughly cut and squared Ham stone and features a hipped double Roman clay tile roof. The building has two storeys and exhibits irregular fenestration across its two bays. In the lower bay, there is a 3-light casement window with a segmental arched head, and above it, a 2-light window that is unglazed but has vertical iron bars and shutters. The lower bay also contains a pair of stable doors set in a segmental arched opening, with a boarded loft door positioned off-center above. The interior has not been seen. This building is part of an important group with Coat Farmhouse.
