Description
The Old Rectory is a detached house dating from around 1800, although it may have been remodeled from an older structure. It features a ham stone ashlar facade, with a brick east gable constructed in Flemish bond on random coursed rubble. The roof is made of Welsh slate and is set behind a low parapet, flanked by stepped coped gables, and there are rendered brick chimney stacks. The building has an L-plan layout and is two storeys high with a four-bay south facade that faces the road.
The exterior includes a rendered plinth, a cornice, and a low parapet with a moulded canopy. The sash windows are set within architraves, with 16 panes in the lower windows and 12 panes in the upper ones. In the third bay from the left, there is a part-glazed door within a semi-circular arched opening, which also has an architrave and a radially glazed fanlight. To the left of the first bay, there is a crosswing with a timber clad lean-to, which is likely older than the main house but has been significantly altered. There are traces of another building that once stood against the north-east corner, but this has now been demolished. The interior has not been seen.
