Description

No 5 Fore Street is a three-storey building with a roughcast front and a coved cornice. It is likely a 17th-century structure that originally featured two oriel windows on each upper floor, which have since been replaced with bays containing 18th-century sash windows. The ground floor retains a simple but unaltered early 19th-century shop front, complete with two doorways and original glazing bars on the windows. This building, along with the Town Hall, the Offices of the Wellington Weekly News, and Nos 1 to 5 (odd) Fore Street, forms a group with Nos 4 and 5 Cornhill.
