Description

The Old Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse located on the north side of Home Farm Lane in Ripton. It is a building of group value. The farmhouse is constructed of local stone, squared and cut, with plain clay tiles to the roof between coped gables. The end and centre chimney stacks are brick, rebuilt in the 20th century. The plan follows a through-passage layout with a rear extension and outshut. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has five bays. The entrance door, in bay two, is of 19th-century design, with a fanlight and a cambered-arched, plain surround. French doors are located in bay five. Bay four has no ground-floor window. All other windows are 16-pane sliding sashes in plain openings.
