Description

Holly Croft Cottages comprise four dwellings, originally a single house, dating back to the 17th century. The cottages are constructed of Doulting rubble with dressed quoins, and have a 20th-century pantile roof with coped verges on kneelers, along with four restored brick stacks. The design is in an "L" shape and reflects a Jacobean style.

The cottages are two storeys high with eight bays. They feature 2-light stone mullion and transom windows with ovolo moulded frames and stopped labels. Four blocked, keyed openings are present on each floor between the fifth and sixth bays. A gabled ashlar porch is situated in the third bay, incorporating a moulded string, coping, and a base for a finial. A 20th-century half-glazed door is set within the porch. A door has been created in the seventh bay, which was originally a window, and further door openings are located in each return. The cottages were formerly known as Holly Grange and are shown on Ordnance Survey maps by that name.
