Description
The stable block to the east of Merefield House was built around 1840. It is constructed from limestone rubble and features a slate roof that is hipped at the front and half-hipped at the rear. The building has two storeys. The west elevation, which faces the house, is designed in a Gothic style and includes four pointed arches in the center. The arch to the right of center is wider and has a hay-loft above it, along with 20th-century doors and a window. To the right of this arch, there is a mounting-block. The south side of the stable block has large planked double doors with a hay-loft above and a 20th-century window to the left. The north side includes 20th-century living accommodation. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value with Merefield House.
