Description
The stable block, located approximately 10 metres west of Warkleigh House, was built in 1844. It is constructed from unrendered stone rubble and features slate roofs with gable ends. The building has an axial stack on the left-hand range. The layout consists of a three-sided courtyard plan that includes a carriage house, tack room, and stables with a loft above on the left side. The rear side has an open-fronted cart shed with a loft above, while the right side contains store-sheds and stables, all enclosed by gatepiers and flanking walls at the front.
On the left side, there are two large plank doors leading to the cart sheds. The loft doors on the centre of the left and rear sides are topped with gabled dormers. The short projecting gables on the rear left side feature large blind loops above two-light diamond leaded windows. A similar blind loop is present on the gabled projection at the rear of the open-fronted cart shed. Inside, the stable fittings are largely intact.
