Description

The lych gate north of the Church of St John was built in 1908. It features a stone rubble and ashlar base, with open timberwork for the upper walls and a hipped clay tiled roof. The roof has a leaded ridge that sweeps up to ball finials on either side of a timber cross at the top. The gateways are designed with depressed four-centred arches, adorned with foliated spandrels and verses above. The timber gates include turned balusters in the open upper section and three panels at the base.
