Description

The lych gate to the churchyard of the Church of St John is a late 19th-century structure. It is timber-framed and rests on local stone rubble sleeper walls, which feature limestone coping. The sleeper walls are accented with limestone ashlar quoins and have chamfered coping. The framed walls above create a simple arcade. The roof is hipped at both ends and has a limestone ridge topped with a plain Latin cross. The lych gate retains its original double gates, which include a top tier of trefoil-headed panels.
