Description

Middle Moorhayne Farmhouse is a mid-19th century farmhouse with some 20th century alterations. The building is constructed from local stone and flint rubble, with limestone ashlar quoins, stone rubble stacks topped with 19th century brick, and a slate roof. It has a double-depth plan, with front and back rooms either side of a central entrance hall and a rear staircase. The rooms are heated by gable-end stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high and includes integral lean-to service outshots to the rear. The symmetrical front elevation has three windows with 16 panes to each sash. The central doorway contains a 19th century four-panel door. A secondary glass-roofed veranda extends across the front. Shaped eaves brackets support the sprocketted eaves. The roof is gable-ended with shaped bargeboards. The interior has not been inspected, but original joinery and other detail likely survive.
