Description
Belle Vue is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century, constructed from local stone and flint rubble, with stone rubble stacks topped with 19th-century brick and a slate roof featuring crested ridge tiles. The house has a double depth plan and faces northeast, with a front and back room on either side of a central entrance hall and staircase. Each room is served by gable-end stacks. It is two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window front, featuring 12-pane sash windows under flat arches made of stone voussoirs. The central doorway retains its original panelled door, while the flat-roofed porch with a brick segmental-headed outer arch is likely a later addition. The main roof is gable-ended. The interior has not been inspected. Belle Vue is part of an attractive group of listed buildings in the small village of Yarcombe.
