Description

A terrace of four houses located on North Street in Crewkerne, built in the mid-19th century. The construction incorporates coursed and squared limestone, with Ham Hill stone used for the plinths; the stones are smaller for the first two houses and larger on the right, encompassing numbers 65 and 67. The roofs are slate-covered, with brick stacks marking the party walls and the right gable end. The houses have double-depth plans and are two storeys high, each originally featuring a single-window range. The window arches are flat and constructed with gauged stone. Number 61 has a 20th-century door and a late 19th-century horned sash window on the first floor; the ground floor has a mid-19th century shop window with four panes, panelled pilasters, a moulded cornice with pendants and brackets. Number 63 features a 20th-century four-panel door and metal windows. Number 65 has a mid-19th century four-panel door with bolection moulding, alongside late 19th-century horned 2/2-pane sash windows. The ground floor window at number 65 has coloured glass in the margin panes. Number 67 has a 20th-century door and windows. The interiors were not inspected. The buildings are of group value.
