Description
Swallow Pits Farmhouse with barn is an 18th-century farmhouse and barn located in Emborough Village. The farmhouse features a rendered exterior with prominent recessed quoins and a double Roman tile roof, along with 20th-century brick stacks and coped verges. It is designed in an L-plan, with a symmetrical front that faces at right angles to the road. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with two and three-light bead-moulded stone mullioned windows, each fitted with iron casements. The central door opening has a bead-moulded surround and a 20th-century glazed door, topped with a fine stone hood supported by ornamental console brackets. To the right of the farmhouse is a rubble barn with dressed quoins and a double Roman tile roof, featuring an oval pitching eye set in a freestone surround on the right return.
