Description
Manor Farmhouse is a manor house that has been converted into a farmhouse. It has medieval origins with alterations from the early 17th century and some work from the 19th century. The building features smooth render, pantile roofs, and coped verges with brick stacks. It is designed in an L-plan with a cross-passage and stands two storeys high with two bays on the left and one bay on the right.
On the first floor to the left, there is a two-light and a three-light moulded stone mullioned window with iron casements. The ground floor on the left has a two-light and a three-light casement, while the right side features a petal window in a moulded freestone surround and a plain freestone surround to the left. The right half of the building is a projecting wing with a front-facing gable, flanked by two-stage diagonal buttresses. The first floor of this wing has a two-light casement in a moulded freestone surround, and the ground floor has a four-light stone moulded king-mullioned window.
There is a door opening at the center of the left two bays, which features a plank door in a freestone surround and a later gabled porch. To the right of the porch is a two-stage buttress. The right return of the building has a moulded four-light stone mullioned and transomed window. Inside the wing, there is a solar on the first floor with a fireplace in a moulded freestone surround that has a four-centred head and a dated fireback.
