Description

Turner's Court Farmhouse is a manor house that has been converted into a farmhouse, with an attached barn. The building dates from the 16th and 17th centuries, with some additions and alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a rendered and scribed exterior that resembles ashlar, with pantile roofs divided into three distinct sections. The section closest to the highway has a hip roof on the left side and some coped verges, along with brick stacks from the 19th and 20th centuries.

The farmhouse is designed in an L-shape, with two storeys. The front has a tall block with a single room plan and a single bay facing the highway, which includes three-light, reserve chamfered stone mullioned windows. The rest of the building is of lower height and has predominantly reserve-chamfered stone mullioned windows, arranged irregularly in two and three-light configurations. There is also a four-light ovolo-moulded stone mullioned window on the ground floor, and a three-light ogee-moulded stone mullioned window, both featuring stopped labels on the ground floor.

The main entrance is located in the angle between the two wings of the L-plan and includes a 20th-century glazed conservatory and a flush panelled door. The barn is located on the left side, with a door opening on the first floor that is accessed by a flight of rubble steps leading to a plank door. Inside, the farmhouse retains original features, including 16th-century doorways, ceiling beams from the 16th and 17th centuries, and roof construction from the same period.
