Description
Highcroft Farmhouse and the attached barn to the east date from around 1800. The farmhouse is constructed of rubble with dressed quoins and features a slate roof and a brick end stack. It is two stories high with three bays, displaying sash windows with glazing bars set in plain stone surrounds. The central door opening is framed by a solid-sided porch with Tuscan half columns that support an entablature and triangular pediment, leading to a six-panelled door. The barn, located to the left of the farmhouse and of lower height, is also made of rubble with rough quoins and has a pantile roof. It is two stories tall with three bays, featuring a broad segmental arch to the left and a door opening with a massive lintel to the right. Above this, there is a pitching eye and a pair of small doorways leading to the hayloft.
