Description

The Post Office and adjoining cottage is a house and shop dating from the 18th century. It is constructed from roughly coursed ham stone with ashlar dressings and features a double Roman clay tiled roof with plain gables, along with brick chimney stacks at both ends and in the center. The building has two storeys and consists of four bays.

The windows are chamfered mullioned with two lights, incorporating steel casement inserts. The first bay on the lower level has a 20th-century square bay window that is three lights wide, complete with a transom and a flat roof. The second bay features a four flush panel door set in a plain ashlar surround, topped with a flat stone hood supported by shaped stone brackets. The third bay contains a 20th-century door in a plain surround, with the window from this bay apparently relocated to the right.

On the west gable, there is a single-bay extension that is set lower, which includes a matching first-floor window and garage doors below. At the top of the east gable, there is a blocked circular attic window. The interior has not been seen.
