Description

The Rectory is a building with origins dating back to the 17th century, which was enlarged in the 19th century. It is constructed from local stone rubble with Ham stone dressings, and features ashlar in its extensions. The roof is made of Welsh slate and is set between coped gables, with brick chimney stacks at each end. The building is two stories high and has four bays, along with a single-storey extension to the east.

The windows are ovolo moulded with mullions and large panes, some of which are leaded and some have casements. The first bay has a lower four-light window with a label and an upper three-light window with a label. The second bay features a single upper light with a cut-off label and straight jointing. The entrance is a half-glazed door situated under an open pediment hood supported by console brackets, with a three-light leaded casement window with a label above it in the third bay. The fourth bay contains casement windows.

The extension has a flat roof behind a parapet and includes a mullioned and transomed angled bay window with a lead roof, featuring a 1-3-1 light configuration. The west gable has an additional mullioned window on the first floor, a modern light below it, and two casements in the attic. The gable indicates that the roof has been raised and has a widened span.
