Description
The former barn, located 20 metres south of Skinners Hill Farmhouse, dates back to the 18th century and has been converted into a house. It is constructed from local stone rubble with Ham stone ashlar dressings and features a double Roman clay tile roof with coped gables and a stone chimney stack at one end. The building has an "L"-shaped plan and is two storeys high, consisting of three bays, with a projecting gabled wing at the east end. The first bay originally had a segmental arch-headed opening for wagons, which has been infilled and replaced with 20th-century windows in artificial stone surrounds. The remaining two bays have plain window surrounds with slight chamfers and simple two-light casements; these bays have not yet been converted as of June 1983. There is also a single-storey projection from the east wing that serves as an office. The building maintains group value with nos. 2-4 Skinners Hill.
