Description
Nos 13 to 17 Hammet Street are part of a terrace built between 1788 and 1790. The original brown brick fronts have been significantly altered, particularly on the ground floor. The buildings feature plain pilasters and an eaves cornice, with old tile roofs and sash windows. The ground floor includes painted stone doorcases with half round Tuscan pilasters, open pediments, and semi-circular fanlights, specifically for Nos 13 and 17, which also have six-panel doors. The remaining ground floor areas have 19th century and later shop fronts. These buildings, along with St Mary Magdalene Church and other listed buildings in Church Square, form an important architectural group.
