Description
The cider house and adjoining outbuildings, located about 10 meters southwest of Hamwood Farmhouse, date from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century and restoration completed in the late 20th century. The cider house features red brick in Flemish bond and has a slate roof with bargeboards. The lower wing at the rear has a pantile roof, while a building beyond it has a triple Roman tiled roof made of blue lias random rubble.
The layout includes the cider house, which is two storeys high and consists of a single bay, with a loft door situated above a three-light ovolo moulded stone mullioned window that is topped with a hood mould on the west front. The entrance is located at the northwest gable end and features a moulded door frame with a four-centred arch head, leading to a 17th-century studded plank door. At the rear, there is a single-storey, single bay structure with a hood mould and a two-light wooden casement window from the 19th century. There is also a single-storey 19th-century wing that is unlit on the west front.
