Description

Garston Farmhouse is a two-story farmhouse dating before 1813. It is faced with rendered and grooved surfaces simulating ashlar, set on a rusticated plinth. The front elevation has three windows on each floor. The first floor windows are glazing bar sash windows with pointed arches and subdivided lights, featuring frip moulds and a 3:2:3 light arrangement. The ground floor windows are four-light casements with cornices. A central doorcase with pilasters supports an open pediment, and it contains a six-panel door within an arched surround with a traceried fanlight. A rainwater head is dated. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, with a single pair of octagonal shafts to the chimney. The rear of the farmhouse has been altered and remodelled.
