Description

Four lamp posts are situated on the south side of the road opposite numbers 5 and 10 the Willows. They were designed between 1901 and 1904 by the local art-metal firm of Singers. The lamp posts are made of cast iron and feature crooks to suspend lamps, which are adorned with art-nouveau style ornament. These posts have been adapted for town lighting, representing an early provincial example of electrification.
