House. Mid C19. Red sandstone rubble with freestone rusticated quoins, archivolts, impost band, platband, cills and doorcase; double-Roman tiled roof with 2 brick stacks to left return. L-shaped plan. Rundbogen-style details. 2 storeys; 2-window range. A forward-facing bracketed gable is over plate-glass sash windows set in semicircular arched stone architraves with impost blocks, paired to the first floor with moulded archivolts and continuous impost band; a platband over a similar triple window. Set back to right is a doorcase in a narrow bay, it has pilasters with moulded cornices as imposts to an archivolt and keystone dying into the platband, semicircular overlight and C20 six-panel door; at eaves level is a small plate-glass sash window. Windows to front have small brackets to cills. The left return, facing the forecourt of the Baptist Church (qv), has similar architraves to one-light windows flanked by projecting stacks, stone to the base, brick above to eaves. INTERIOR not inspected.
