Description

The gate, gate piers, and wall in front of Manor Farmhouse were constructed around 1856 and designed by John Norton. The gate and gate piers are made of cast iron, featuring fleur-de-lys headed gatepiers and standards, with tripartite headed uprights and trefoil headed reinforcement. This design is similar to that found at St Audries in West Quantoxhead. The wall is built from red sandstone, squared and coursed, with a flat stone coping, standing about 1.25 meters high in front of the farmhouse. Manor Farmhouse was part of the Acland Hood estates in the mid-19th century.
