Description

Manor Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century, may incorporate elements of an earlier dwelling. The farmhouse is constructed of red sandstone rubble with a moulded wooden cornice and a clay tiled roof, featuring brick stacks to the gable ends. It has a ā€œUā€ shape with gabled rear wings. The two-story, two-bay front has 16-pane sash windows. The central doorway is cambered and topped by a freestone pentice porch supported by carved brackets, with a broad door featuring three glazed panels. A two-bay return on the right side has early 19th-century two-light leaded casements on the first floor and an unglazed two-light opening below. A canted bay window has been inserted to the right of this opening. The rear elevation incorporates a cruciform leaded window that provides light to the stairwell.
