Description
This is a house dating from the 17th century, which was significantly altered in the early 19th century and enlarged around 1914. The exterior is roughcast over a rubble base, with pilaster quoin strips and a double-span tiled roof that is hipped to the left. A brick stack is located to the right and set in slightly to the left. The house has a parallel range and is two and a half storeys high, with a three-bay front. A hipped one-bay section is present on the left, matching a dummy wall on the right featuring an arched niche on the ground floor. It has 16-pane sash windows with pointed arched tops on the ground floor. The central bay features an open-pediment pilaster doorcase with an arched, leaded fanlight and a six-panel door. Inside, an arched door with Gothick style moulding on the first floor is likely from nearby Chapel Cleeve, which was enlarged at the same time. This house was originally part of the Chapel Cleeve estate.
