Description
Pyle Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations from the 19th century. It is constructed from squared and coursed Doulting rubble with dressed quoins and has a 20th-century pantile roof and three brick stacks. The building features a symmetrical facade with a 'U' plan, standing two storeys high with an attic and arranged in a 1:3:1 bay configuration. The outer two bays project as gabled wings, and the windows are predominantly 2-light bead moulded stone mullioned windows, except for the casements in the outer bays, which have moulded architraves on the left side. The central door opening contains a 19th-century six-panelled door, with the top two panels glazed, and is sheltered by an open slate hipped roof porch supported by two Tuscan columns. Inside, there is a broad fireplace in the right ground floor room, featuring a chamfered stone lintel.
