Description
The Rectory is a building constructed around 1839 by Edward Davis of Bath for the Duke of Cork and Orrery of Marston House. It features squared and coursed Doulting stone, a hipped slate roof, wide eaves, and ashlar stacks. The design is Italianate with an "L"-plan, comprising two and three storeys and irregular fenestration. The windows are sash style with marginal lights, and the ground floor windows have cornices supported by brackets. The entrance has a semi-circular head door opening within an aediculated surround, featuring paired four-panelled doors. A stair light to the roof consists of three semi-circular headed openings on each side beneath a hipped roof. Inside, the building contains period doors, a fireplace, decorative plasterwork, and a cantilever staircase.
