Description

Belle Vue Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that was significantly altered in the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed Doulting rubble with squared quoins, and has a modern pantile roof with coped verges and rubble end stacks. The front of the farmhouse is symmetrical, with two storeys and an attic. It has three bays with paired sash windows featuring glazing bars, set within plain stone surrounds with a stone dividing mullion. The central entrance has a 6-panelled door, the top four panels glazed, and a 20th-century gabled porch with paired half-glazed outer doors. Inside, there are some 18th-century fittings, including window shutters and cupboards. A 17th-century staircase is located within a projecting rear wing, rising through three storeys, and featuring turned balusters and a moulded handrail.
