Description

This building is a corner house that now serves as a shop and offices. It was constructed in the 18th century and modified in the 19th century. The exterior features red brick in Flemish bond with painted stone dressings and a hipped Welsh slate roof, topped by a large brick chimney stack. The building has three storeys and three bays, with the centre bay set in a long curve. The ground floor includes a plain doorway in the first bay, followed by simple early 20th-century shop windows with five and two units, the larger window following the curve. Above, there are 12-pane sash windows on the first floor, framed by architraved surrounds with keystones, and 6-pane sash windows on the second floor set in architraves without keystones. The interior has not been seen. This building occupies an important corner site in the centre of town.
