Description
No. 10 High Street is a house with a shop, dating from the mid-19th century. It features colourwashed ashlar stonework, with a roof that is not visible behind the parapet. The building has three storeys and a single bay, with a pilaster on the left side only. The ground floor has a mid-20th century shop front that includes a recessed doorway to the left and a deep fascia. Above this, there are 8-pane sash windows in plain surrounds on the first and second floors, topped by a cornice and a shallow parapet.
Inside, the ground floor has been modified for the shop, while the staircase and partitions leading to the first floor remain, although the doors have been removed. There are no significant features left on the second floor. Despite these internal alterations, the mid-19th century facade holds important value for the town's appearance.
