Description

The remains of a churchyard cross are located about 12 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Clatworthy Village. This cross is possibly from the 14th century and stands on a later base. It is made of red sandstone and is set on a slate stove base, reaching a height of about 2 meters. The structure features a stump of an octagonal shaft that has been broached to a square, which is placed in an octagonal socket with deep broaches. Additionally, there are damaged remains of a two-stage calvary made of slate, which may date from the 18th century.
