Description
Jews Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse that incorporates earlier work and features 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of cob with rendered rubble and has a slate-hung facade, with remains of quoin strips visible on the left return elevation where there is an external stepped stack. The roof is made of Welsh slate and is hipped to the right. The building has two storeys over a basement and consists of three bays. The windows are 20th-century two-light casements, with three-light windows in the outer bays on the ground floor, and single-light windows flanking the central entrance. There is an 18th-century glazed Tuscan porch with a fanlight, approached by steps that have a curved dwarf wall, which is rendered. An extension is located at the rear. The farmhouse is named after an early owner, John le Jeu or Jewe, who died in 1415.
