Description

This is a barn located at the driveway entrance to Spargrove Manor, dating from 1737, as indicated by the incised initials and date on a doorway jamb. The barn is constructed of rubble with freestone dressings and features coped verges and an asbestos sheeting roof. It has a rectangular shape with gabled porches on each long side. There are breather openings with plain surrounds and door openings to the porches that have freestone jambs and plank doors. Inside, the barn has a simple tie-beam roof, although there may be earlier carpentry that remains.
