8/190 Group of ten monuments in churchyard adjacent to south aisle of Church of St. Martin

Ten monuments. C17 and C18 except chest tomb to east early C19. Five chest tombs, 4 headstones, and a pedestal tomb. The headstones are on the west side of the group, 2 large and 2 small, all with shaped tops and ornament, some texts remaining, 3 with the inscriptions to the east, that to extreme south with an inscription to the west. The chest tombs rectangular on plan, 2 with corner pilasters, hipped and slab tops, that to extreme east of group early C19. Pedestal tomb to south-east of the group with fluted corner pilasters and a domed capping. An unusually close grouping of high quality monuments spanning 3 centuries.
