Description
A group of ten monuments is located in the churchyard adjacent to the south aisle of the Church of St. Martin. These monuments date from the 17th and 18th centuries, except for a chest tomb to the east, which is from the early 19th century. The group includes five chest tombs, four headstones, and a pedestal tomb. The headstones are situated on the west side of the group, consisting of two large and two small stones, all featuring shaped tops and ornamentation, with some inscriptions still visible. Three of the headstones have inscriptions facing east, while the one furthest south has an inscription facing west. The chest tombs are rectangular in shape, with two featuring corner pilasters and hipped slab tops; the chest tomb at the extreme east of the group is from the early 19th century. The pedestal tomb, located to the southeast of the group, has fluted corner pilasters and a domed cap. This collection represents an unusually close grouping of high-quality monuments spanning three centuries.
