Nos 91, 92 And Barn Adjoining To 91

Nos 91, 92 and the barn adjoining No 91 is a farmhouse that has been converted into two cottages and a garage. It dates from the late 16th century, with possible alterations from the 18th century and mid to late 19th century. The cottages are roughcast with a Bridgwater patent tiled roof, featuring overhanging eaves with sprockets and brick stacks on the left gable end and centre left.

The layout likely consists of a two-cell and cross passage, which is a remnant of the original three-cell and cross passage farmhouse, while the adjoining barn may represent the remains of the third cell. The building is one and a half storeys high with a 1:2 bay arrangement. It has late 19th-century three-light casements and three gabled dormers that rise from below the eaves. The ground floor features a left-side casement, an inserted plank door, and a projecting full-height bay with a catslide roof and an inserted two-light casement, which is thought to be a stair turret. There is also a casement on the right and a chamfered depressed arched doorcase with a plank door in the end bay, which is the original entrance. The interior has not been seen.

Adjoining the main structure is an open-ended barn that slightly projects and consists of approximately four bays. It is built of random rubble with a red brick facade and has a hipped pantiled roof supported by king post construction. This barn may incorporate the original crossing end of the farmhouse.
