Description

WHITELACKINGTON DILLINGTON PARK ST3715 7/127 Group of farm buildings about 80 metres East of Dillington Park Farmhouse (formerly listed under 4.2.58 Civil Parish of Ilminster Without)

GV II

Range of farmbuildings. Early C19. Mostly local stone rubble, but east wall of main block in Ham stone ashlar below and red brick above; Welsh slate roofs between coped gables. Double roof plan; 2- and 3-storeyed; 15 bays. East elevation has, below, 4 segmental-arched openings, then a semi-circular arched arcade; above, to bays 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8 semi-circular arched windows, bay 1 blocked, bays 2 and 3 glazed, with open brickwork to remainder; upper bay 4 has a blocked doorway and remaining bays have slit vents. Other elevations to match. Interior not seen. Very large scale buildings for early C19 farming.
