Description

Nos. 29, 31, and 33 North Street are a row of three cottages dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed of ham stone ashlar with Welsh slate roofs, featuring stepped coped gables and a brick chimney stack. The cottages are two storeys high and comprise a total of seven bays. The upper floor has 16-pane sash windows set in plain surrounds. The three bays to the left (No. 29) feature later 19th-century angled bay windows with castellated parapets to the flat roofs of the outer bays, and a semi-circular arched doorway with a beaded surround and radially glazed fanlight in between. No. 31 has angled bay windows in the first bay, with plain sash units, and a 16-pane sash window to the second bay, where the lower glazing bars have been removed. A semi-circular arched doorway with a 4-panel door, matching that of No. 29, is located in between. No. 33 has an angled bay window with a hipped Welsh slate roof, flanked by two semi-circular arched doorways, each with a plain fanlight. The interiors were not inspected.
