Description

ALLER CP - ST32NE 4/3 Outbuilding 20 metres west of - Aller Court Farmhouse GV II

Probably medieval house, now farm outbuilding. Late C15, damaged by fire and repaired C19. Local lias stone cut and squared, Ham stone dressings; clay pantiled roof with plain gables. Two storeys, 5-bay east elevation. Two-light C15 traceried windows with cinquefoil cusped heads, incised spandrils, set in flat headed recesses, retaining internal ironwork, unglazed, these to bays 2 and 3; left door bay 2, and to bays 1 and 4 moulded cambered arched doorways with deep lintols and no labels; single storey later projection bay 5. Further, damaged, openings in west wall, plinth along south wall. Interior not accessible. Part of the Manor of Aller estate. (VCH, Vol. III, 1974).
