Description
This building is an outbuilding located 20 metres west of Aller Court Farmhouse. It is likely a medieval structure that has been used as a farm outbuilding. The building dates from the late 15th century and was damaged by fire, later undergoing repairs in the 19th century. It is constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings, and features a clay pantiled roof with plain gables.
The outbuilding has two storeys and a five-bay east elevation. It includes two-light 15th-century traceried windows with cinquefoil cusped heads and incised spandrils, set in flat-headed recesses. These windows, which retain internal ironwork, are located in bays 2 and 3. There is a door in bay 2, and in bays 1 and 4, there are moulded cambered arched doorways with deep lintels and no labels. A single-storey later projection is found in bay 5. The west wall has further damaged openings, and there is a plinth along the south wall. The interior is not accessible. This outbuilding is part of the Manor of Aller estate.
