Description

This is an earlier 19th century outbuilding located at Langalchorad Farm in Kingarth. The main structure is a symmetrical two-storey, three-bay farmhouse built in a plain classical style, with a single-storey, two-bay addition on the outer right and a courtyard at the rear. The exterior is harled with slightly raised, painted margins and projecting cills. To the northwest, there is a single-storey whitewashed rubble outbuilding.

On the southeast (entrance) elevation, there is a replacement door centered at the ground floor, with a single window above it aligned at the first floor. The flanking bays are regularly fenestrated on both floors, and there are single windows at the ground floor in the two bays to the outer right.

The northwest (rear) elevation features a large stair window at the center, with single windows at both the ground and first floors in the flanking bays. There is a projecting single-storey wing attached to the outer left, which includes a lean-to porch in the re-entrant angle to the right.

The original block has six-pane timber sash and case windows, while the addition has modern glazing. The roof is covered with graded grey slate, and there are raised stone skews along with replacement rainwater goods. The main block has corniced apex stacks with octagonal cans, and the addition has a coped apex stack.

The interior was not seen in 1996. The outbuilding to the northwest has a piended roof and encloses the courtyard. It features twelve-pane timber sash and case windows, a graded grey slate roof, and replacement rainwater goods.

The boundary wall is made of whitewashed rubble and encloses the site, featuring a cast-iron pedestrian entry gate.
