West Cottage, Langalchorad Cottages, Kingarth

This building is an outbuilding associated with West Cottage, part of Langalchorad Cottages in Kingarth, and it dates back to 1873. It consists of a pair of single-storey cottages with an attic, arranged in a symmetrical four-bay block. The structure is made of red brick and features painted polychrome detailing, including painted quoins and long and short surrounds to the slight segmental-arched openings. Other architectural elements include a raised eaves course, timber bargeboards, and projecting cills.

The northern entrance elevation has gabled entrance porches located in the outer left and right bays, each with boarded timber doors and 4-pane fanlights above. The two central bays contain bipartite windows at ground level, while above them are bipartite dormers with ball-finialed gables. The windows throughout the building are fitted with 8-pane timber sash and case glazing. The roof is covered with graded grey slate and features polychrome apex stacks on the east and west sides, with a square stack on the east and circular stacks on the west.

The interiors were not seen in 1996. The outbuilding at the rear has boarded timber openings in three bays to the left of the center and single windows in the remaining bays to the right, featuring 6-pane casement glazing. It also has a graded grey slate roof.
