Description
The Hearne family chest tomb, located about 12 meters south of the porch of the Church of St Andrew, dates from the early 17th century. It is made of stone and features a flat top with a steeply chamfered cornice leading to a thick slab. The north and east sides of the tomb are inscribed in gothic lettering. It is believed to be the tomb of Hearne, who died in 1617, as noted in Olivey's work, "North Curry: Ancient Manor Hundred," published in 1901.
