Description

CLYST HYDON ST 00 SW 2/19 Illegible chest tomb approximately - 3 metres north of the north aisle of the Church of St Andrew GV II

Chest tomb. Probably C17. Beerstone ashlar. The chest tomb in rectangular in plan with a thick flat lid with moulded edges. The sides are panelled, one panel each end and 2 each side. Any plinth is buried. The lid is inscribed with Gothic lettering but it is too worn to be legible in all but perfect lighting conditions.
