Description
Dairy Lodge is a lodge built in the early to mid 19th century for Hatch Park, which is not included in this listing. It is constructed from squared and coursed local stone and features hipped slate roofs with overhanging eaves and soffit boards, as well as brick stacks on the ridge. The building has an irregular L-plan, likely derived from a pattern book, and is a single storey.
The south front faces the road and has two bays with two-light Tudor arch head casements. On the left, there is a projecting section of the wall, while on the right, the roof extends over this projection, which includes an additional window. The west front features a doorcase set in a similar projection with a panelled door, and a two-light casement window set back in the north wing. This distinctive arrangement of the extended roof is also seen at The Lodge, which is located at the main entrance. The original Hatch Park house was destroyed by fire in 1942 and has since been rebuilt.
