Description
Lloyd Cottages, located in Hatch Beauchamp, is a building dating from around 1850 that was originally constructed as a Methodist chapel and later converted into a dwelling in the late 20th century. The exterior is rendered over rubble and features pilaster quoins, a coved cornice, and a hipped slate roof with tall rendered stacks that rise from the eaves and have coved caps.
The building has an open hall that is ceiled and presents a two-bay window facade. It includes full-height pointed arch windows with six 4-pane sections flanking a central entrance. The entrance features a 20th-century door with a leaded fanlight and is framed by an ashlar roofed broken pediment door case with a slightly coved entablature. On the left side, there is a full-height pedimented doorcase with a tall pointed arch recess and a square-headed door. This property is said to have been built by Mr. Hardstaff as a Methodist chapel.
