Description
This is a barn and linked outbuildings located about 12 metres south-east of Yeabridge Farmhouse, dating from the 18th century. The structure is built from ham stone rubble with ashlar dressings and has a corrugated iron sheet roof that has replaced the original Welsh slates. The gables are stepped and coped. The barn is partly single-storey and partly two-storey, featuring a main barn with nine bays of 19th-century king-post trusses, while the two-storey section to the west has seven bays of queen-post trusses. There are full-height doorways with double doors in both the north and south walls, one mullioned window in the north wall, and one early timber casement in the south wall. The north wall also has an elliptical arch with a keystone. The east gable is set at an angle, and the west gable features segmental arched doorways at two levels, with a flight of stone steps leading to the upper doorway. Additional buildings are present on the east and south sides of a courtyard, which have been altered. This barn and its linked outbuildings have considerable group value with Yeabridge Farmhouse.
