Description

Dairy Lodge is a detached house located immediately north of Wigborough Manor House. It was likely built in the 19th century and has been modified over time. The building is constructed from cut and squared ham stone with ashlar dressings and features a double Roman clay tiled roof with stepped coped gables and a stone slab chimney stack.

The house is two storeys high and consists of three bays. It has hollow-chamfered mullioned windows set in chamfered recesses, all of which are three-light windows. The lower bays two and three have 20th-century reconstructed stone surrounds. In the lower bay two on the right, there is a plain doorway with a boarded door and a moulded flat stone hood.

To the west gable, there is a single-storey extension that includes a casement window and a boarded door. Above this extension, in the main gable, there is another mullioned window. At the top of the gable, there is a very eroded datestone inscribed with the year 182. The interior has not been seen. Dairy Lodge holds considerable group value with Wigborough Manor House, which it is nearly adjacent to.
