SOUTH PETHERTON CP ST41NW WIGBOROUGH Dairy Lodge, immediately north of 3/191 Wigborough Manor House (previously listed as Outbuilding immediately N. of Wigborough Manor House) 19.4.61

GV II

Detached house, formerly a brewhouse or dairy. Probably C19, modified. Ham stone cut and squared, ashlar dressings; double Roman clay tiled roof between stepped coped gables; stone slab chimney stack. Two storeys, 3 bays. Hollow-chamfer mullioned windows in chamfered recesses without labels, all 3-light: lower bays 2 and 3 have C20 reconstructed stone surrounds: to lower bay 2 right a plain doorway with boarded door and moulded flat stone hood. Single-storey extension to west gable, with casement and boarded door; in main gable above another mullioned window; at gable crown a datestone, very eroded, of 18-2. Interior not seen. House has considerable group value with Wigborough Manor House (q.v.) which it almost adjoins.
