Description
Roebuck Gate Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that was restored in the 19th century. It is rendered over cob and features a steeply pitched slate roof, with a rendered stack on the left and a brick stack on the right. The building is arranged in a two-cell and cross-passage layout, set east-west against the hillside, with an outshut extending to the east side.
The farmhouse has two storeys and five bays. The 19th-century windows are two- and three-light casements with glazing bars. The two right bays project slightly forward, featuring one three-light casement window on the ground floor to the right of the entrance, and two two-light casement windows to the left. The entrance includes a four-panelled door. The random rubble outshut has a corrugated iron roof.
Inside, there is a window at the rear of the cross passage, a large kitchen on the left, and a steeply chamfered beam with diamond stops. The original stair is likely located to the right of a modern grate, with another recess on the left.
